"Road To Dawn" participating in Cannes International Film Festival 2008!

Dear Friends,

I am delighted to inform you that with the support of Dato' Kee Phaik Cheen, who just recently appointed by our Malaysia Minister of Tourism as Chairman of Penang Tourism Action Council, Road To Dawn will have 2 screening in Cannes Film Festival.

The dates and venues are as follow:-

21 May Palais G 6pm

If any of you are going to Cannes, please join our international movie distributor Alexandra Sun 孫雅麗 over there. Please also ask your friends in the movie industry who will be in Cannes to watch our movie.

Our Malaysia Tourism Ministry is sponsoring Road To Dawn screening in Cannes.

By the way, our screening in Singapore Film Festival was a great success. The 600pax cinema tickets even though cost 3 times more than other movies, all sold out few days before the screening. The audiences gave great applauses when the movie ended. It ended by mid night, many people still stay to listen to Winston question and answer speech, even Australian high commission and his wife stayed back to congratulate Winston and I.

President Hu JIng Tao Visit to Penang 2002

President Hu JingTao of China visit Penang in year 2002. During that time, I was the Administration Special Assistant to Penang State Executive Councilor of Toursim, Cultural, The Arts and Women's Development. I was also long time member of Penang Heritage Trust and former council member, an NGO that deals with awareness of heritage and history conservation.

Thus, I was appointed by Penang State Government with the approval of Malaysia Federation Government and China Government as the official heritage guide for 120 Armenian Street, Dr. Sun Yat Sen Penang Base Museum and Khoo Kongsi, the heritage clan house. The 1 and a half hour briefting tour that I presented to President Hu JingTao is very unique experiences for me. In fact, President Hu is the most knowledgeable international leaders that I ever met. He saw the details and asked wise questions where people normally ignored.

It was a extreme important task that I had to preform. Guiding a world leader is task closely related to bilaterial relation of both countries, I had to bear full responsible to every sentences that I spoke. One not only has to be knowledgeable in heritage tours but also the international diplomatic skill of communication.

120 Armenian Street was the 1910 Penang Conference Meeting Venue, which Dr. Sun Yat Sen raised over 8 thousands dollars for the Revolutionary Upraising movement in China. It eventually led to the 1911 April Canton Uprising (today known as Guangzhou Uprising) and the 1911 October China Revolution. This revolution movement also led to the democratic movement in Asia and the raising of nationalism and over thrown the colonization of Asia region. Thus, Penang is known as the base of Asia democratic.

President Hu JingTao visited 120 Armenian Street and thanked the house owner Madam Khoo Salma for "Preserving the important history of Dr. Sun Yat Sen in this region".

Although, the visit was official planned for 15 minutes, however, Presdient Hu and his wife and the over hundred delegates took 30 minutes to tour this historical site. It was the first official tour President Hu has visited a Dr. Sun Yat Se museum in any parts of the world and China. His wife later visited the Singapore Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial in later year, and in 2004 President Hu JingTao visited the Zhong Shan city Sun Yat Sen Resident Memorial in Guangzhou.

The visit of President Hu JingTao also led to the initiation of planning of filming of ROAD TO DAWN movie by China Pearl River Production House, the movie was completed in 2007 for screening.

After that President Hu JingTao and his wife visited the biggest Chinese clan house in South East Asia, the Khoo Kongsi. President Hu JingTao praised this 100 years clan house architectual as "Collective wisdom of Chinese craftmen". The initiated planned tour was half an hour, President Hu JingTao took over a hour to have details admiration of the overseas China craftmenships and cultures.

On February 10th 2007, Saturday, in Romania, Anthem Olympic Gymnastics Team Gold Medalist, Daniela Sofronie celebrated her birthday, 2 days before her birthday (February 12th 2007). It was a lovely and wonderful party.

Daniela Sofronie invited our NadiaVideoClips Club Moderator, Magda Petrescu, to join her birthday party. Magda gave Daniela Sofronie a gift from our NadiaVideoClips Club to her, sending wishes from our club to Daniela Sofronie.

Celebration for the former Olympic champion Daniela SofronieThe former gymnast , Daniela Sofronie , Olympic champion with the team in Athens 2004 , is 19 yo today. She celebrated her birthday on Saturday at her parent's house together with the relatives and few friends. Unlike the past years when the celebration found her always at Deva's cantonment, the whipped cream fight – now a custom among the gymnasts - missed this time. Among other gifts , Daniela had a wonderful surprise fm a hardcore fan . Magda Petrescu accompanied by her daughter, Alexandra , offerd her a collage of photos with Daniela in different situations from the fanclub "NadiaVideoclips" side , of whose president is Mai Loon fm Malaysia. The board included a greeting :"NadiaVideoclips club wishes you a Happy Birthday". The fan took a lot of pictures that are to be posted soon on the club's site.Pupil in the 12th grade of the Sport High School, Daniela has already planned her goals for the next period of time ; graduating the high-school exam with a high score and then passing the examinations of 2 Universities , the Sport one and The Police Academy. "Studies are now my priority , I am not thinking of anything else." confessed the former gymnasts who is working in her spare time at the Constanta County Sport Authority.

Fosta gimnastă Daniela Sofronie, campioană olimpică împreună cu echipa României, la Atena în 2004, împlineşte astăzi 19 ani. Constănţeanca şi-a sărbătorit ziua de naştere sîmbătă, la casa părintească împreună cu rudele şi cîţiva prieteni. Faţă de anii trecuţi, cînd această sărbătoare a găsit-o mai mereu în cantonamentul de la Deva, a lipsit bătaia cu frişcă, devenită deja un obicei între gimnaste. Printre numeroasele cadouri, Daniela a avut parte de o frumoasă surpriză din partea unor admiratoare înfocate. Magda Petrescu, însoţită de fiica sa Alexandra, i-a oferit din partea fanilor clubului "Nadia Videoclips", a cărui preşedintă este Mai Loon, din Malaesia, un tablou cuprinzând un colaj de poze, în care gimnasta Daniela Sofronie era surprinsă în diverse ipostaze. Tabloul era completat de o urare: "Nadia Videoclips Club îţi urează La Mulţi ani!". Admiratoarea a realizat o mulţime de fotografii, urmînd ca în cel mai scurt timp să le posteze pe siteul clubului.
